The copper lid is suitable for Luxstahl 37L alembic. You need only a clamp and a gasket to connect the lid to the alembic.
The copper lid is completely removable. This means that you can easily service and clean the alembic by simply removing the lid, which is especially useful for distillation of thick mashes (for example, grain mash) when thorough cleaning of the container is required.
The copper dome lid serves as a helmet of some kind. Due to its material, which is copper, the product serves as an air dephlegmator, as its high thermal conductivity reduces the temperature of the metal to the values that are lower those that of the rising vapors. As a result, the vapors contact the lid and partially condense inside the alembic. This process allows you to significantly improve the quality of the resulting moonshine.
The copper lid adsorbs sulfur compounds, hydrogen sulfide, various acids, acetals, and other substances undesirable in the final product. This process is contingent on the unique properties of copper. Therefore, copper in a moonshine still is a highly desirable material.
The copper lid for the alembic is equipped with a 4” TRI-CLAMP connection. This means that various pieces of equipment can be connected to it – a helmet, a gin basket, a cone, a distilling elbow, and other devices with the same mounting diameter. However, you can use 4” TRI-CLAMP connectors to install hardware with different types of connection.
The product has a built-in fitting for an electronic thermometer with a probe. You can use it to measure the temperature of alcohol vapors inside the still.
The part is made of M1 food grade 1.2 mm copper sheet. At the same time, the edge of the lid is reinforced and has the thickness of more than 2.4 mm, which makes the lid "Max Cuprum" truly unique and premium in terms of manufacturing quality!
The copper lid is put together by argon-arc (TIG) welding without using solder alloys. This means that you can be sure of the quality of the welds and the reliability of the product assembly!
