Stainless steel tank 45l with copper lid "Max Cuprum"

The copper lid in the alembic plays several roles at once:

First, copper positively influences the quality of the resulting product since it adsorbs sulfur compounds, fatty and organic acids, acetals, ammonia and other substances from the mash that have an unpleasant smell.

Secondly, copper allows you to get a more flavorful product, because it is a catalyst for numerous reactions that enhance various aromatic notes of the distillate such as spicy, caramel, nutty, vanilla odors.

Third, high thermal conductivity of copper and the convex shape of the lid in the alembic allows for intensive air dephlegmation. This means that part of the steam contacts the copper, condenses, and flows back into the alembic. This process can significantly improve the quality of the product!

The alembic has a ferromagnetic 5mm thick bottom. This means that you can use it on both gas and induction cookers. At the same time, thanks to the thick bottom, the heat is distributed evenly and the risk of mash burning is significantly reduced, which is very important when distilling thick raw materials (for example, grain mash).

The fully removable lid makes the alembic very convenient to clean from the inside. At the same time, the lid can be tightly mounted with a thick 3mm silicone gasket and a clamp. The lid itself is made of 1.2 mm copper, but its edge is folded in 2 layers. Thus, the thickness of the edge is more than 2.4 mm! Thanks to this, the lid has excellent rigidity and resistance to deformation.

The alembic, which is a complete analog of 45L Luxstahl tank with "Max Cuprum" copper lid is equipped with an electronic thermometer with a probe, which you can use to measure the temperature of steam in the vessel.

The full volume of the vessel is 45 liters. It consists of the volume of the 37L alembic and the volume of the 8L "Max Cuprum" copper lid.
